Q: Are you excited about the Oscars ceremony?
Natalie: The best thing that you can hope for when you make a movie and put your soul into it is that people respond to it well. The fact that audiences have come away moved, excited, entertained and stimulated by this film is extraordinarily flattering. So it’s a great, great honour. Q: And you’ve said Nina was a dream role for you as well?
Natalie: I always wanted to do a film relating to dance. I had danced when I was younger, until I was about 12, and I guess I always sort of idealised it – as most young girls do. So when the director, Darren Aronofsky, had this incredible idea not just relating to the dance world, but also to this really complicated character – or two characters – it was an amazing opportunity, and something completely exciting.relating to … …に関連する sort of 少し idealise (=idealize) 理想化する

Q: Did you always know you wanted to be an actress?
Natalie: No, it wasn’t until Star Wars that I really decided that it was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Starting out when I was 11 or 12 doing Leon I was just interested in what would be fun. It was always an extracurricular sort of hobby; something that I just enjoyed.
